Sometimes one can't help but marvel at God's creation. How the skies, clouds, mountains and the sun could align themselves to create such a perfect, breathtaking picture. How different creatures (be it insect, beast or flora) could demonstrate such amazing and unique abilities. Truly, no one but God could have orchestrated such beauty in this world. No one but God.

Yesterday, I had the most amazing day. Followed two families on an outing to a resort near Kota Tinggi, where we were supposed to follow the resort's transport to a place where we could sight fireflies. Left home at almost 4 in the afternoon and got to the resort near dinner time. Had a lot of fun at the resort cos there were these obstacle course thingies. In my boring world, obstacles which involves jumping from a tiny wooden platform floating unstably on water to another such platform, is some mean feat to a vertically challenged individual like me. Plus, it does quite some damage to my poor heart and nerves i should say. However, i could not resist the lure of the challenge and temptation of the smell of adventure, however cheap the thrill was.

One of the best parts was actually this long wooden bridge which ran across a span of dirty water. This bridge linked the resort to the obstable course. This is one exciting looking bridge. VERY Indiana Jones. You know, the kind that he skeeters across while fleeing from hordes of enemies and which eventually ends up being cut while Jones dangles from it heroically albeit precariously. Yeah, that's the kind. Well, that kinda bridge is mighty fun to jump madly on. The jiggling and rocking of the bridge while MMY, Occasionally Maniac and I were fanatically bouncing on with no sense of restraint (you should have seen the maniacal look on MMY's face!) was a real highlight of the day! The adults (no, i dun consider myself one actually) kept shouting for us to stop, but to no avail.

After this bit of fooling, we went off for dinner at a nearby uh, foodplace, before returning to the resort to follow the transport to the firefly place. The teh tarik there was EXCELLENT by the way. Took a short boatride down a stretch of water while wearing big and smelly lifejackets. Carried an empty rocher box for catching them fireflies with.

I'm so glad i went. Have never in my life seen fireflies till yesterday. Can you imagine what it must feel like to sit in a boat in darkness and gaze upon bushes lighted up by tiny blinking lights which danced with the sway of the leaves? Picture a christmas tree if you will. Just that this one was definitely not running on electricity. It may not have had the decorations conventional trees had, but the 'natural' lights on the bushes made its beauty unrivalled. That night was a magical night.

I caught my first firefly last night. We couldn't get close enough to get right under the bushes and touch the flies because of the tide. But some did come near us nevertheless. I made a grab at one and captured it. Put it in the rocher box. Another soon joined its newfound home. Can't tell you how elated i was. Even went to sleep with the box on my bed. Had pillows over my head and the box so i could see the fireflies. Wondered why only one was lighted up.

Supper was good, though i din eat much. Felt too full after ice-cream and ribena. Would put up the pictures if i could just figure out a way to do it. Stupid Hello doesn't seem to work anymore. GRR..
Was a fruitful day. Am pleased. Heh. Oh! And the company made things so much more enjoyable too. Kudos to MMY, OM, A and the wonderful adults who drove us there... =)
