Did a number of things on Saturday. The earlier ones I've already mentioned in a previous post. Housework and tennis mainly. Had 3 other highlights in my day....

1) At the hair salon...

Went with Y to a new place to water my parched locks. I've nothing against the hairstylist, but I did think he and his staff could be a bit more....you know....particular about cleanliness and hygiene?? Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'm a cleanliness freak or that I'm too high-class to frequent a neighbourhood shearer of locks. But come on...at least clean up the shorn locks man! When Y and I got there and found ourselves seats in a corner to wait our turn, we couldn't help but notice that our swivel chairs had tufts of hair in the crevice of each arm rest. And not JUST in the crevice....in the crevice and with an abundance overflowing from that general vicinity. Y tahan-ed like 3 minutes before scampering over the another seat. Totally abandoning her friend, may I add. Hmph. I was left there in my scary chair, flanked by 2 tiny mounds of hairy furballs. I can assure you, my movements while in that chair was minimal. YUCK!

While I was getting a trim, I occupied myself meaningfully by scrutinising the surface of the ledge/table that was in front of me, between me and the mirror. It was covered with teensy, minute, super-short hair particles....the kind you get if you take your father's shaver apart and scrape around on the inside for residual hair....Y, I bet you didn't see that right? That's cos it didn't come in a MOUND!!! Muahahahaaaahaa...

I'm not done ok. When they got me ready to cook steam my head hair with a steamer, they first wrapped my head around the hairline with a damp towel. It was SMELLY ok??? Smelt like how my bath towel smelt the few days it kept raining in singapore and my towel just refused to dry. No, make it thrice as smelly. And it was around my FACE!! Thank God our noses are not where our ears are, or I really might have passed out.

And the above was just about cleanliness, mind you. The silly steamer was so chockful of steam (read: boiling hot water in gaseous state on the brink of turning liquid) that the just-evaporated H20 had no way of escape except to leap onto my face, and THEN onto my already burning scalp!! OWWWwwww!!

I don't know which is worse: being wrapped up in something fishy (literally), being steamed like a char siew bao burnt on the face/scalp, or having hairy furballs as body guards. Any takers?

p.s. No offence k, Y? It's nothing against you and it doesn't mean I'm never going there. I might endure the above for the sake of the price...=P

Ok you guys...that's all for this instalment. *yawn* too tired to do highlights 2 and 3. Another time perhaps...
