...for my mum.

She got whacked by a basketball in the right eye with quite a bit of force last Wed. You can't really see much of a bruise or anything from the outside but apparently a couple of days after the incident, she started seeing spots or something in her vision. She can't really describe it...something liquidy moving around or something...which, if you ask me, doesn't sound good at all! I'm kinda worried. Especially after she FINALLY decided to see a doctor only TODAY to get a referral to an eye specialist. I've gone to an eye specialist. It took me 2 weeks from the time i saw the GP till I finally got a consultation with the specialist. My mum got an immediate referral. Her appointment is tomorrow... doesn't sound good at all....don't have a specific time yet cos they are going to see when the doc is free to slot her in tomorrow.

Arrrgh! Why do parents always keep things to themselves!?? She only told us today! And it was my dad who told me lah! It's been almost a week!! She said she thought it was nothing. And she only saw a doc today cos my aunt, who is a nurse, advised her to after hearing her 'symptoms'. She's always doing things like that! Everything also keep quiet, and we only get to hear last minute!! Do you know she actually once went for a minor op on her own and I only found out when I met her along the corridor outside my house while on my way out??? Can you imagine how shocked I was to see her arm in a bandage and to hear that she'd gone for an op??? Without telling us??? WAH LAU!!! Fed up. Fine! Don't tell us anything. Whatever.

Now, I've been telling her to go to sleep and stop straining her eyes lor...but she just won't listen. Must die die dunno do what. Work or housework. It's not that I don't appreciate it but NOW's just not the time lor! I KNEW this would happen, so I finished washing up the dishes BEFORE she got home. But she still managed to find things to do! AARRRGGH!!!

Ok...this is so not what I meant to blog. It was meant to be short and peaceful. I dunno where all these came from. Sigh. Please excuse my outburst.

Do pray for:
1) An available time slot for a consultation with the eye doc asap
2) Wisdom for the doctor to give an accurate diagnosis and treatment
3) If possible, that there won't be anything very serious. Or that whatever the problem is, it can be rectified.
4) That my mum will not be stubborn but to take good care of her eyes meanwhile and not strain it. To have the right priorities lah. Housework is not one. The rest of us can do that.
5) Protection from any other injury

Thanks...

p.s. In case you're wondering what she was doing with a basketball, she was PLAYING basketball. Some P3 teachers versus P5 teachers thing. Sigh. She said she didn't know it wasn't compulsory for all to play, so she played. And then she didn't know how to catch the ball. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
